How buyers should specify a mounting system before RFQ
Solar mounting is the structural interface between the PV module and the roof, ground, carport or balcony. It defines the load path, waterproofing method, corrosion exposure, installation speed and packing format for the whole project.
The right family depends first on the site condition, then on wind and snow load, module size, roof or foundation type, material choice and installer workflow. A strong RFQ gives enough context for engineering review, not only a quantity list.
- Start with the installation surface: tile roof, trapezoidal metal roof, Klip-Lok roof, flat roof, driven pile, concrete foundation, carport column or balcony rail.
- Confirm module dimensions, orientation, array layout and design wind/snow loads before final rail span, clamp spacing and bill of materials.
- Select material by environment: anodized aluminum for lightweight corrosion resistance, HDG or Zn-Al-Mg steel for larger ground arrays, and SUS304/SUS316 for hooks and fasteners.
- Check rail length, pre-assembly level and container utilization early, because mounting systems can be freight-sensitive.
- Wrong roof clamp or hook choice can create leakage even if the rail and module clamp are correct.
- Generic span tables are risky in high-wind, cyclone, snow or edge-zone conditions without project-specific load review.
- Long rails can increase freight cost and site handling time; mini-rail or pre-cut packing may be better for some C&I rooftops.
- Mixed metals, coastal exposure and unverified fastener grade can create corrosion problems before the module service life ends.

Roof Mounting
Connects PV modules to tile, metal or flat roofs while managing waterproofing, attachment strength and rail span.
Use for residential and C&I rooftops where roof profile, water sealing and fast installation are the main constraints.
Ground Mounting
Transfers array loads into driven piles, screw piles or concrete foundations for open-field solar projects.
Use for utility and commercial ground arrays where soil condition, row spacing and steel structure design are key.
Carports
Combines parking shade, PV mounting, waterproof drainage and steel structure design into one canopy system.
Use for parking lots, EV-ready sites and projects where weather shelter is part of the value.
Balcony Solar
Provides small-format hook and bracket kits for apartment balcony solar installations.
Use for retail-ready balcony kits where packaging, repeatability and simple installation matter.

Mounting Systems sourcing questions
Practical checks buyers usually confirm before quoting, sampling or consolidating a shipment.
How do buyers request a quote for Mounting Systems?
Send the product list or BOM, quantities, destination country or port, required standards, and target delivery date. OmniSol reviews SKU matching, lead time, packing, and export requirements before quotation.
Can Mounting Systems be shipped with other solar BOS components?
Yes. OmniSol can review mixed-container feasibility for mounting, cables, connectors, protection devices, combiner boxes, distribution boards, and selected storage accessories.
When are certificates and market documents confirmed?
Document availability is checked at RFQ and order confirmation stage against the selected SKU, supplier, model, and target market requirements.
