Quality Control Process
Every OmniSol order goes through a 4-stage quality control process. Pre-shipment inspection with a full photo report is standard — not an optional extra.
Why QC Matters for Solar Mounting
Solar mounting hardware sits outdoors for 25+ years under UV, rain, wind, and — in many markets — salt spray and cyclonic loads. A coating thickness that is 10 µm below specification, a fastener that is 2 Nm under torque spec, or a seam clamp that has been press-formed from the wrong aluminum alloy will not fail on day one — it will fail in year 3 or year 8, when the installation crew has moved on and the liability falls to the EPC or distributor who specified the product.
OmniSol's QC process is designed to catch these issues at the factory — not after 10,000 units are on the water. The four stages below are not theoretical; they are the process applied to every order.
The 4-Stage QC Process
Stage 01
Factory Qualification Audit
- ISO 9001:2015 certification verification
- Production line and equipment capacity assessment
- Raw material sourcing and traceability review (alloy certificate, steel mill certificate)
- Surface treatment line inspection: anodizing bath chemistry, galvanizing pot temperature, coating thickness measurement
- Existing product test reports (TUV, SGS, IEC)
- Financial and on-time delivery history review
Stage 02
In-Production Check (IPC)
- Raw material verification: alloy grade stamp, steel grade certificate cross-check
- Dimensional inspection: profile cross-section, hole positions, slot tolerances
- Surface treatment mid-run: anodizing thickness (eddy current gauge), galvanizing coating weight (magnetic gauge)
- Weld quality inspection: visual and dye penetrant test for structural welds
- Hardware fit check: bolts, T-bolts, and nuts trial-assembled to confirm fit and torque spec
- Photo documentation of production batch with lot number
Stage 03
100% Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)
- Quantity count: every carton, every SKU against packing list
- Random sampling: dimensional check per ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 AQL 1.5
- Fastener pull-out and torque tests: stainless steel fastener batch testing
- Seam clamp grip force test: clamping torque × pull-out resistance for critical roof clamps
- Coating thickness: minimum 10 measurements per batch, recorded in QC report
- Visual inspection: surface defects, sharp edges, missing parts, labeling
- Photo report: every product type photographed, all non-conformances documented
- QC report issued to buyer before balance payment released
Stage 04
Container Loading Supervision
- Container condition inspection before loading: no moisture, no pest damage, no structural compromise
- Loading sequence photographed: each pallet position recorded
- Packing list reconciled against physical cartons loaded
- Load securing: dunnage bags, corner protectors, and lashing specified per product type
- Container seal number recorded and forwarded to buyer with bill of lading
- Loading SOP documented and archived for quality records
