Off-grid solar kits with battery and inverter
Complete off-grid solar power systems for homes, farms, clinics and remote sites: solar panels, off-grid inverter, LiFePO4 battery, cables and protection, matched and priced as one kit.
Every kit on this page runs with no grid connection and takes a generator as back-up. Pick the size from your daily use, then choose the lower-cost Value build or the Premium Deye hybrid.
Solar first
The array charges the battery and runs your loads during the day.
LiFePO4 storage
Batteries carry the night. Modules add capacity when you need more hours.
Generator back-up
Every kit takes a generator input for long cloudy spells.
Off-grid solar system packages with batteries
Daily output assumes 4.5 hours of full sun. Prices are the Premium build where published; Value builds cost less. Open a kit to see the full bill of materials for both builds.

How to size an off-grid solar system
- Add up daily use. List each appliance, its watts and the hours it runs, and add the kWh. A small home with lights, fans, a TV and a fridge uses 4–6 kWh a day; add an air conditioner or a well pump and it quickly passes 15 kWh.
- Size the array for the worst month. Divide daily kWh by the peak sun hours in your cloudiest season and by 0.8 for losses. 15 kWh a day at 4 sun hours needs about 4.7 kWp.
- Size the battery for the night. Estimate night-time kWh, allow for the selected battery's usable capacity and inverter losses, then add reserve for the backup time you need.
- Size the inverter for the biggest load. The inverter must start the largest motor (pump, compressor) while everything else is running.
- Plan the back-up. A generator, or the grid where there is one, covers long cloudy spells so the battery does not have to.
Off-grid inverter or hybrid inverter
| Value (off-grid) | Premium (hybrid) | |
|---|---|---|
| Inverter | MUST (Infinisolar) | Deye (Growatt on request) |
| Battery | MUST LiFePO4, 51.2 V | Deye low-voltage LiFePO4 |
| How it works | Off-grid: charges from solar, the grid or a generator. It does not send power to the grid. | Hybrid: works with the grid, a generator and the battery. Export to the grid can be limited or set to zero. |
| Monitoring | Wi-Fi module optional. | Wi-Fi logger and app included with the inverter. |
| Best for | Off-grid or weak-grid sites where price matters most and export is not needed. | Grid-connected homes and businesses that want backup, export control and a well-known brand. |
What an off-grid solar system costs
The kit price covers panels, inverter, battery, cable and protection. On top of that you pay for mounting, freight and insurance, import duty and installation. Battery hours drive the cost more than anything else, so size storage for the night you actually need to cover.
See the solar system price guide for kit prices by size and what changes them, and the battery capacity calculator to size storage.
Frequently asked questions
What is an off-grid solar system?
An off-grid solar system powers a home or site with no connection to the utility grid. Solar panels charge a battery during the day, and an inverter turns the battery power into normal AC for lights, sockets and appliances day and night. Most off-grid systems also take a generator as back-up for long cloudy spells.
What comes in an off-grid solar kit?
Our off-grid solar panel kits come with solar panels, an inverter that runs without the grid, LiFePO4 batteries, PV and AC cable, connectors, and DC and AC protection, all matched to work together. Mounting is quoted separately once we know the roof or ground.
How much does an off-grid solar system cost?
Our 230 V off-grid capable kits are USD 2,500–3,000 for 3.6 kW with a 5 kWh battery, USD 3,000–3,500 for 5 kW with 5 kWh, and USD 4,500–5,000 for 8 kW with 10 kWh, per kit, FOB Xiamen. Larger split-phase and three-phase kits are priced on request. The battery is the biggest cost driver: doubling the hours of storage adds more than a bigger array does.
What is the best off-grid solar system package with batteries?
The right package depends on your site and loads. Add up daily energy use, check solar production in the weakest season, then size the battery for night use and the backup time you need. Motor starting current, air conditioning and local sun hours can change the result substantially; the kit table is a starting point, not a final design.
How many batteries do I need for an off-grid solar system?
For an initial estimate, divide night-time energy use by the usable battery fraction and allow for inverter losses. For example, 6 kWh of night use at 90% usable battery capacity requires at least 6.7 kWh of nominal storage before inverter losses and reserve are added; two 5.12 kWh modules may be a starting configuration. Confirm usable capacity, peak load and backup days against the selected equipment.
Can I run an off-grid solar kit with a generator?
Yes. Every off-grid capable kit we supply has a generator input. The inverter charges the battery from the generator when the battery runs low and passes power through to your loads at the same time.
Off-grid or hybrid: which should I choose?
If there is no grid, or the grid is so weak that you never want to depend on it, an off-grid inverter is enough and costs less (our Value builds). If you have a grid and want to use it, sell or limit export, and keep backup during outages, choose a hybrid inverter (our Premium Deye builds). Both run from the battery with no grid.
