Product Overview
Type B RCCB in 5 current ratings from 16A to 63A in 2-pole and 4-pole configurations for circuits with solar inverters, EV chargers, and power electronics that produce DC leakage components. Type B detection at the main RCCB position provides whole-board protection regardless of the load mix downstream.
Some European countries require Type B residual current protection on circuits fed by transformerless solar inverters. The 4-pole version covers three-phase main positions in boards serving three-phase commercial loads.
Type B RCCB detects all residual current waveforms including smooth DC components that a standard Type AC device cannot detect. When replacing an existing Type AC RCCB in a solar installation, the relevant wiring standard may require upgrading to Type B — confirm with the local authority having jurisdiction before substituting a different type.
