Product Overview
IEC 61008-1 certified RCCB in 7 current ratings from 16A to 63A in 2-pole and 4-pole configurations. Covers single-phase (2P) and three-phase (4P) main residual current protection in residential and commercial distribution boards. Seven current ratings give close matching to the calculated main circuit current.
IEC 61008-1 certification confirms the device trips at the rated sensitivity current and survives rated making and breaking operations — the standard required by grid connection rules in many markets for main residual current protection.
RCCBs provide residual current protection without integral overcurrent protection and are used in combination with a separate MCB or MCCB. The split-device configuration allows independent replacement of the RCD element without disturbing the overcurrent protective device, which is useful when RCD test failure occurs between scheduled MCB replacements.
Applications
Inverter output protection
AC distribution boards
EV and PV support circuits
Residential and commercial electrical BOS
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ETL1-63 detect DC leakage?
ETL1-63 is AC Type — it detects sinusoidal AC residual current only. It does not reliably detect pulsating DC or smooth DC residual current from power electronics. For circuits with inverters, chargers, or drives, specify ETL1-63B (Type B).
What is the standard sensitivity for a main RCCB?
For a main RCCB providing personal protection, 30mA is standard. For fire protection in TT earthing systems, 300mA is commonly used at the main position with 30mA on individual circuits. Confirm the sensitivity requirement with the electrical designer for the specific market.
