Product Overview
Type B RCBO in 9 current ratings from 6A to 40A for single-phase circuits with power electronics loads. Type B detects AC, pulsating DC, and smooth DC residual current — making it appropriate for EV charger circuits, variable-frequency drives, and solar inverters that generate DC leakage components.
Both B and C tripping characteristics are selectable within this family, providing flexibility between sensitive-load and motor/inverter circuit protection in the same product line.
Type B RCBOs detect both AC and pulsating DC residual currents, making them suitable for protection downstream of inverters that produce a DC-component ground fault. Many installation standards for solar systems require Type B RCD protection at the inverter AC output — confirm with the wiring rules applicable to the destination market.

Why is Type B RCBO needed for EV charger circuits?
EV chargers can produce smooth DC leakage current that standard AC or Type A RCCBs cannot detect, creating a potential shock hazard. Type B devices detect all three leakage types (AC, pulsating DC, smooth DC) and are now required for EV charger protection in most European standards.
What residual current sensitivity is available?
Standard sensitivity options are 10mA and 30mA for personal protection. Specify the required sensitivity at RFQ — 30mA is the standard requirement for socket outlet and personal protection circuits.
