Can the 20kA and 40kA models be used together in a two-stage SPD system?
Two-stage SPD systems typically use Type 1 at the main entry and Type 2 at distribution boards. Using 40kA at the main distribution and 20kA at secondary boards is a valid design — the higher-energy device absorbs the main surge, leaving less residual surge for the secondary stage.
