Product Overview
Ten current variants from 63A to 250A with 50kA breaking capacity — the highest breaking capacity in the medium-current MCCB range. Suitable for main distribution board positions close to large transformers or MV/LV switchgear where fault current can be high even on low-current feeders.
The 50kA breaking capacity is the key differentiator: close to a 1000kVA transformer secondary at 400V AC, prospective fault current can exceed 40kA. A 50kA-rated MCCB provides adequate margin where lower breaking capacity devices would fail destructively.
250A output MCCBs are a common main switch size for 100–200kW string inverter groups. The H-frame provides a higher short-circuit interrupting capacity than an M-frame at the same current rating, offering a safety margin at installation points with moderate grid fault levels or near transformer secondary connections.

Why is 50kA breaking capacity important even for a 250A breaker?
Breaking capacity must exceed the available fault current at the point of installation — not just the load current. Close to a large transformer secondary, fault current can reach 40-50kA even on circuits carrying only 100A of load. 50kA breaking capacity provides the required margin.
Is EKM6-250H suitable for PV inverter AC output protection?
