Product Overview
10kA breaking capacity is double that of the standard ETM1-63, appropriate for industrial switchboards, main distribution boards, and installations close to a large power supply where prospective short-circuit current exceeds 6kA. The 56-variant range matches ETM1-63 in current and pole options for a direct upgrade without changing form factor.
For PV plant AC distribution boards adjacent to large MV/LV transformers, the available fault current often exceeds 6kA. ETM1-63H provides the additional breaking capacity without requiring a change to MCCB format.
The H-type tripping curve provides a delayed magnetic trip response for loads with high inrush currents. In solar inverter AC output applications, H-type devices are not typically required — confirm whether your inverter startup profile generates an inrush that exceeds the B or C tripping threshold before specifying the H curve.

When do I need 10kA breaking capacity instead of 6kA?
Select breaking capacity based on the prospective short-circuit current at the installation point, not on the load current. Close to a transformer secondary or main incomer, fault current can exceed 6kA even on 10A branch circuits. Have the designer calculate the fault level — if it exceeds 6kA, ETM1-63H is required.
Are ETM1-63 and ETM1-63H physically interchangeable?
Both use the same DIN rail mounting pitch and similar dimensions. They are functionally interchangeable in most installations — the H version simply provides higher breaking capacity. Confirm that accessory compatibility (auxiliary contacts, shunt trips) is maintained if accessories are fitted.
