Product Overview
630A to 800A current range addresses large inverter DC input protection and main DC switchboard breakers in utility-scale PV where standard MCCB ratings are insufficient. Three current variants (630A, 700A, 800A) allow close matching to the inverter DC input rating with appropriate margin.
At this current level the breaker typically protects the combined output bus of multiple combiner boxes feeding one inverter DC input. DC voltage and breaking capacity at the system voltage must both be confirmed — DC breaking capacity at high voltage is often lower than the rated current implies.
800V DC rated protection covers legacy 800V system architectures and retrofit projects where the existing system voltage is below 1000V. Do not substitute an 800V-rated device where 1000V or 1500V system voltage applies — insulation breakdown risk under overvoltage conditions increases significantly above the rated voltage.
