Product Overview
Molded case circuit breaker for DC applications in PV and battery systems where higher current and breaking capacity than a miniature breaker is required. MCCB format suits panel-mount installations in inverter combiner inputs, main DC switchboards, and battery main disconnection.
DC MCCBs have different arc extinction requirements than AC MCCBs of the same current rating. Confirm both the rated DC voltage and the DC breaking capacity — AC breaking capacity figures do not apply to DC circuits.
EKM6DC series uses a compact DIN-rail profile that allows high-density protection within shallow enclosures. Specify the correct pole count for your system voltage — 2-pole devices cover up to 600V DC, while 4-pole configurations provide 1000V DC string protection in combiner boxes.
Applications
PV string and array protection
Combiner box internal protection
Inverter DC input circuits
Utility and C&I solar BOS
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the current and voltage rating for EKM6DC?
EKM6DC covers a range of current and voltage configurations — confirm the specific variant specifications from the datasheet at RFQ. Share your system voltage and required rated current and we select the correct variant.
Is EKM6DC suitable for battery main disconnection?
DC MCCBs are commonly used for battery main disconnection in storage systems. Match the rated voltage to the battery bank voltage, the rated current to the maximum charge/discharge current, and the breaking capacity to the expected fault current.
