Product Overview
PV005 is the 1500V DC version of the PV004 connector family, covering the same male, female, and branch configurations in 8 variants for systems where string voltage exceeds 1000V. The external dimensions are similar to PV004 but the insulation and contact geometry are rated for the higher voltage.
Using a 1000V-rated connector in a 1500V circuit is a safety and compliance failure. In 1500V systems, every connector from module to combiner must carry a 1500V DC rating — PV005 is the direct upgrade path from PV004 for higher-voltage projects.
PV005 connector dimensions conform to the IEC 62852 keying geometry standard, allowing cross-brand mating with verified MC4-compatible connectors from IEC-certified manufacturers. What is the visible difference between PV004 and PV005?
PV005 connectors are marked with their 1500V rating on the connector body. Externally they are similar in size to PV004, but the insulation thickness and contact design differ. Always verify the voltage rating marking on the connector body before installation.
Are PV004 and PV005 connectors intermateable?
No. Do not mate 1000V and 1500V connectors — the voltage rating of the mated pair is determined by the lower-rated device. Use matched PV005 pairs throughout any 1500V circuit.
