Product Overview

Double-core armored cable rated to 1.8kV DC provides more voltage margin than standard 1.5kV cable families. The four available sizes (2×1.5, 2×2.5, 2×4, 2×6mm²) cover paired conductor runs in underground or mechanically exposed DC circuits at high system voltages.

A higher voltage-rated cable is relevant in 1500V string systems where peak open-circuit voltage approaches the cable limit, or when the designer wants additional margin above the calculated string Voc.

Halogen-free outer jacket meets IEC 60754 zero-halogen requirements, making this cable suitable for installations where fire codes specify LSZH cable — including tunnels, enclosed parking structures, and commercial building cable trays. The WDZCEER23 designation confirms STA armour with copper conductor and halogen-free sheath.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose 1.8kV rated cable over standard 1.5kV?

An 1.8kV rating gives more headroom in 1500V string systems where module Voc under cold conditions can push the string voltage close to 1500V. The extra margin also accommodates future module upgrades without requiring cable replacement.

Is this cable suitable for direct burial?

The armored construction provides mechanical protection suitable for direct burial. Burial depth, bedding sand requirements, and marker tape spacing should be confirmed against local cable installation standards — the cable manufacturer datasheet lists the minimum bend radius for burial.
