Product Overview
PV string monitoring device measures current per string inside a combiner box, enabling per-string fault detection and performance monitoring without a full SCADA system. String-level current data identifies underperforming strings, open-circuit faults, and partial shading patterns that module-level or inverter-level monitoring cannot pinpoint.
Early detection of one failing string in a 12-string combiner can prevent months of reduced energy yield. EKPC-D installs inside the combiner box alongside existing fuse holders and reports string current data to a connected monitoring gateway.
The EKPC-D measures string current on individual PV string inputs in real time and transmits data via RS485 Modbus to a monitoring platform or logger. String-level current comparison allows fast identification of shading, soiling, or cell degradation on individual strings without a site visit — confirm monitoring platform Modbus address mapping before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does string monitoring improve O&M efficiency?
Without string monitoring, a fault in one string of a combiner may reduce output by only a few percent — below the threshold detectable at the inverter. String current monitoring identifies the specific string and combiner, allowing technicians to go directly to the fault location instead of string-walking the entire array.
What communication protocol does EKPC-D use?
Confirm the communication protocol (RS485/Modbus, CAN, or proprietary) from the product datasheet. The monitoring device output must be compatible with the data logger or SCADA system collecting the data — share the SCADA system details at RFQ and we confirm compatibility.
