Nigerian water pumping is mostly boreholes, and mostly diesel or generator driven. Solar pumping removes a fuel line and a refuelling trip, which on a remote borehole is often worth more than the energy saving itself.

What drives solar pumping in Nigeria
Four things buyers here raise before anything technical comes up.
| Generator and fuel cost | A pump on a small generator costs fuel, maintenance and somebody going out to start it. On an unattended site the trip is often the expensive part. |
| Unreliable grid | Where a supply exists it may not be there when the water is needed. A solar-only system takes that variable out; a hybrid cabinet keeps the supply as backup. |
| Borehole-first water supply | Farms, schools, clinics and community schemes all run from drilled wells, which puts submersible pumps at the centre of most projects. |
| Project and donor funding | Water schemes funded by government or donors come with document requirements, which is where a proper bill of materials and a document pack earn their place. |
Site conditions that change the specification
These are the local conditions we allow for at sizing, rather than discover at commissioning.
| Humidity | Condensation inside a cabinet is a real failure mode here. Desiccant in transit, and a cabinet that is sealed and ventilated properly on site, both matter more than they do in a dry climate. |
| Lightning | High strike density with long DC runs across open ground. Surge protection on the DC side is not optional value engineering. |
| Water quality | Sand in a poorly developed borehole is what kills submersible pumps. Well development is your driller’s responsibility, and it is worth insisting on before the pump goes in. |
| Theft and security | Arrays in open ground need anti-theft fasteners and a locking cabinet specified at the start. It is much cheaper than retrofitting. |
Import and compliance
What we can provide is factory documentation. What has to be arranged in Nigeria is arranged by you or your customs agent, and we would rather set that out clearly than let it surface at the port.
| SONCAP | Regulated products entering Nigeria need a SONCAP certificate, obtained against a product certificate issued from the country of supply before shipment. It has to be arranged before the goods leave, not after they arrive, and a shipment without it is an expensive lesson. |
| Product certification from origin | We supply the factory datasheets, test reports and certificates that the process draws on. The application itself is made by the importer or their agent. |
| Payment and import arrangements | Settle the payment route and any import documentation with your bank early in the process rather than at shipment. This is the item most likely to delay a Nigerian order, and it is outside what an equipment supplier can arrange for you. |

Made in China, exported from China
Every item ships from a Chinese port. We have no factory, warehouse or stock in this market, and we do not imply otherwise.
Your contractor installs it
We do not keep installation or commissioning crews here. Drilling, pipework, civil work and the electrical connection are done by people you appoint locally.
We supply FOB China
Goods, export packing, loading and export documents are ours. Freight, insurance, duty, clearance and the inland leg are arranged at your end or by a forwarder you nominate.
Support is remote
Selection, sizing, drawings, document packs and troubleshooting by message or call. That is real support, and it is not the same as someone arriving at the farm.

Does solar pumping equipment need SONCAP to enter Nigeria?
Regulated products do. SONCAP is obtained against a product certificate issued in the country of supply, and it has to be in place before the goods ship rather than after they arrive. We provide the factory datasheets, test reports and certificates the application draws on; the application itself is made by the importer or their agent.
How do I pay for a solar pumping order from China?
Settle the payment route with your bank early in the process, before an order is placed. It is the item most likely to delay a Nigerian shipment and it sits outside what an equipment supplier can arrange. We will structure the order documents to fit whatever route your bank confirms.
Do you have an office or stock in Nigeria?
No. Everything is made in China and ships from a Chinese port. There is no warehouse, no stock and no installation crew here. Drilling, installation and commissioning are done by a contractor you appoint, and we support them remotely.
Which port do you ship to?
Lagos is the usual entry, and Port Harcourt for some projects. We supply FOB China, so freight and routing are arranged by you or a forwarder you nominate. We can quote CIF to a named port instead if that is easier.
Can a solar pump replace a generator on an existing borehole?
Usually yes, and the nameplate on the existing pump is the most useful thing you can send. From the motor power, voltage and phase we can quote the drive cabinet and the array around your existing pump, which is cheaper than replacing a pump that is working.
What documents come with the goods?
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and the factory datasheets, test reports and certificates for the equipment. For funded projects we can put together a fuller document pack, and we will say which items are routine and which need a factory to agree something.
